There is something about being in the mountains together that makes everything slow down a little.
Clinton Gulch Dam Reservoir is one of those places that feels like an adventure before the session even begins. Rugged mountain peaks surround the water, wildflowers scatter across the hillside, and there is plenty of room for kids to explore.
For this session, we wandered along the shoreline, stopped for quiet moments in the wildflowers, and let the kids do what kids always want to do near a mountain lake…find rocks and throw them into the water.
Some of my favorite photographs came from those in-between moments. Twirling on a hill of wildflowers. Everyone piled together for a hug. Kids climbing across the rocks and deciding which one would make the biggest splash. Because your family’s story is so much bigger than one perfectly posed image.
It is your son concentrating as he chooses the perfect rock.
It is the sound of the kids laughing when the water splashes.
It is your daughter reaching for your hand as you walk through the wildflowers.
It is the way your children lean into you when everyone gathers together.
Those small interactions are what make your family yours.
