As a family photographer, one of the most rewarding aspects of my work is watching families grow. I’ve had the pleasure of capturing this particular family’s journey since their oldest was just a baby, and each year, we embark on a new adventure to find the perfect backdrop for their evolving story. This year, our quest for fresh scenery led us to their Family Photos at Mount Falcon East Trailhead.
It was a new location for all of us – an exciting prospect that always sparks my creative energy. From the moment we arrived, we were all captivated by the breathtaking views. The sprawling landscapes, the distant mountains, and the unique rock formations offered an incredible diversity of backdrops. We explored different vantage points, played with the natural light, and simply let the family’s genuine interactions unfold .
While the nearby Red Rocks Amphitheatre is undeniably iconic location, it can become incredibly busy, particularly during concert season. Mount Falcon East offers a fantastic, less-congested alternative with equally stunning, if not more diverse, vistas. The trails are well-maintained, and there are numerous spots to capture sweeping panoramic shots or intimate close-ups.
This session at Mount Falcon East was a beautiful reminder that even with familiar clients, new locations can completely transform a photoshoot, offering fresh perspectives and inspiring truly unique images.
