Happy 8th Birthday, Wyatt!
I can’t believe it, but I just signed you up for your first season of flag football in the spring. You still love playing all sports, and you told me you will play soccer again in the fall. On most days, you are playing outside at the park until the sun goes down. You love being outside and you love playing with friends. It is your happy place. If you have to be stuck inside, of course you would prefer to be playing video games. But you also would be happy playing a board game or card game with anyone in the family who will sit with you.
You have picked 7-1 winners of the NFL playoff games, and the last two games before the Super Bowl are on your birthday. So we won’t know who wins yet. But it’s great that you share your dad’s love of watching football.
Wyatt, you move through your life with so much energy and excitement every day. Even when you were a baby, you would wake up smiling. And I always thought to myself, if everyone could be just as happy as Wyatt when he wakes up in the morning, the world would be a better place. You still have that affect on people. And you definitely have that affect on me. I appreciate the quiet moments with you, too. When you take my hand on a walk, or when you want to snuggle on the couch. I know that won’t last forever. But you will always be my baby boy.
So happy birthday, Wyatt Ford. We have an exciting weekend planned to celebrate your 8th birthday. Your first birthday party that isn’t going to be at home. I know you and your friends are going to have so much fun at Top Golf! I love you, Little Bear.
