On a cold and snowy night in Denver, I am dreaming about this gorgeous winter maternity session. Jessica and Kris, first time parents, wanted to bring their maternity session inside. Their vision was to have an intimate, at-home maternity session. To capture all the details of their life at home before the baby comes.
When Jessica and I started talking about planning her in-home maternity session, I told her to observe the light in her house throughout the day. We started the maternity session in their family room, with lots of natural light coming in from the windows and front door. Then we moved into the nursery. One of my favorite moments was Jessica and Kris laughing together in front of the crib. It was special, because I knew I would be coming back to that same room for a newborn session. Finally, at the end of the session, Jessica changed into a beautiful floral robe, and we focused on taking some intimate maternity portraits of her alone. I love how she wanted to celebrate her body. Making a baby is an incredible thing!
By the end of the session, Jessica and Kris felt like friends. Kris even made me one of his famous cappuccinos and Jessica and I shared a slice of cake. There’s nothing wrong with indulging in some pregnancy cravings!
