It may sound cliche, but we had a perfect fall morning for family pictures at South Mesa Trail last weekend. I love waking up to cooler mornings in September. And the leaves are just starting to change here in the Foothills. I met sweet little Zoe and her parents Sunday morning at South Mesa Trail in Boulder. I chatted with mom before the session, and she asked if they could bring their dog Toby. Boulder is such a dog-friendly city, it was easy to suggest a location that allows dogs. And South Mesa Trail family pictures are a must if you are looking for a location with trees, water, a bridge, and great views of the Flat Irons!
My only fair warning about South Mesa Trail is the parking! As with many Boulder Open Space Parks, the parking lots are small and fill up quickly. So just allow yourself some extra time to park so you don’t feel rushed. There is also an extra parking lot across the street at Dowdy Draw Trailhead, where I had to park for this session!
I also love when clients show up for their family pictures wearing great outfits! Mom and I chatted about what to wear, and she found the perfect floral dress in Zoe’s closet. I am loving all the fall floral patterns in season this year. And mom and dad looked great in their coordinating outfits, too. I love mom’s maroon colored top for fall. It really popped against the background. Zoe was such a sweet baby girl during the entire session, and I even got a few smiles out of her. She was so easy going and never fussed. Just look at those big, blue, beautiful eyes! Gorgeous!
The family brought an extra change of clothes for Zoe, which is always a good idea for a 3 month old baby. And mom and dad did a quick change, too, for some casual pictures with the mountain background. All in all, this was such a fun session, and I hope I get to see more of Zoe as she gets bigger. Next time she might even be crawling or walking!
