When your mom works at Sweets Ice Cream in Erie, you know you are going to get an awesome Smash Cake! Happy First Birthday, little man! Andy was one of our test babies for Cake Smash Mini Sessions back in January. He helped test three of our Sweets Smash Cakes in the store when he was only 8 1/2 months old. Even then, he was not shy about squishing the frosting in-between his fingers and toes. I knew his official first birthday smash cake was going to be a success!
Let’s just say, Andy and his parents did not disappoint! They are huge Chicago Cubs fans, so we had a baseball theme in the park for his mini session. Mom, Katy, did an awesome job with the decorations. She even brought along a pot of ivy, which they had to tell me is part of the tradition of going to baseball games back at Wrigley Field. Just look at his adorable Chicago Cubs jersey and hat! And those baseballs? Perfect for throwing into the cake!
Now, I know from personal experience, that Andy’s mom makes a delicious cake. While I am not sure how much actually made it into his tummy, Andy had no problem getting messy and completely covered with frosting. And, of course, he had a big smile on his face the entire time! No sugar rush meltdowns! Between the cake and the balloons and the sticks on the ground, this little boy enjoyed his morning! He had me smiling all the way home, too.
