Recently my family and I headed to Aspen for a long weekend. We attended the Snowmass Balloon Festival while we were there. But of course I also wanted to take some scenic family pictures in the mountains. Aspen did not disappoint! We pulled off at a couple roadside parks and campgrounds to go exploring, with no particular destination in mind. It is easy to find beauty in the mountains. Of course, taking my own family pictures with a tripod is not so easy. At least this time I had my mother-in-law to assist me.
So here is a little behind the scenes look at me and my beautiful family. I scrambled the week before our trip to put coordinating outfits together for my husband, myself and my kids. I laid everything out on the bed the morning of the photo shoot. And I changed one last time before we headed out the door. Sound familiar? The struggle to take my own family pictures and get in front of the camera is real! But we had fun exploring the woods and looking for bears.
It is good to know, that when I asked the kids what their favorite part of the weekend was, they both said throwing rocks into the river…
