This summer my family made our annual trip back to Michigan. And lucky me, one of my good friends from college had a brand new baby girl for me to meet! This beautiful mama is actually the reason that I met my husband. And now I am living the dream here in Erie, Colorado, 12 years later! It just so happens that Melissa and her family live a mile from my in-laws back in Michigan. So of course, when I told her I was coming, we also scheduled a lifestyle newborn session.
Baby Alex was absolutely beautiful, and I loved being able to capture some special moments with her big brother Will, too. It made me smile to see Melissa and Mitch as new parents. Of course we had a lot of catching up to do during the session, too. Time went by too fast. So Melissa invited me and my kids over to the beach for a play date the next day. Alex slept through the entire play date, but Will was happy to share his kitchen on the beach, and my kids loved dipping their toes into the lake and filling up buckets with sand and water.
It’s sharing little moments like these, that mean the most to me. Being invited into any new parent’s home for a lifestyle newborn session is the greatest honor. You are trusting me to capture this precious new life and intense love, and I do not take it for granted.
