Good morning, Isabella. Happy 9th birthday, my sweet girl!
I am really looking forward to spending the day with you today. We are lucky to have a four day weekend, AND no school on your birthday! What a treat! You have already planned to go out to breakfast for coffee and cinnamon rolls this morning. You’ve shed our family’s birthday “tradition” of having breakfast at Snooze to make your own choices and assert a little more independence with every year you get older. And that’s ok (even though you know I love Snooze pancakes). I’m proud of you for making decisions and carving your own path in the world.
Every year I say it, but it’s truly incredible how much you have grown up in the past year. But one thing that never changes, is how kind, smart and beautiful you are. Inside and out. You are so important, and I want you to know that you can be anything. (This summer you said you wanted to be a horse farmer in Michigan).
Over the past year, I loved watching your courage grow on the ski slopes. You have a little more adventure and confidence in yourself every day. You have turned into an avid reader, staying up every night to read to yourself in bed. And, I couldn’t write a birthday post to you without mentioning horseback riding. Although you only just started last month, it’s incredible to see how far you’ve coming riding Scout, and I know it brings you so much joy.
So continue to dream big, Isabella. I love you so much! And I am so proud you!
