So this is what it feels like to have a 10 year old. Happy birthday, Isabella Vail!
When I look back at pictures from this year, I can’t believe how much you have changed over the past year. You will always be my little girl. But I’ve watched you grow into a stronger and more confident person this year. Every day, it feels more like you are my friend, and not just my daughter.
I love that you’ve taught yourself gymnastics and practiced almost every day. Now those handstands and back walk overs come so naturally to you. And it’s been fun to watch you play volleyball this fall and find a sport that you like. Keep trying new things. Keep getting stronger.
It’s little things that show me you are growing up, too. Like thanking me for making dinner. Or helping your brother with something. You have a quiet and kind soul. You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room, but you love your close friends and family with all of your heart. And that is something to feel good about.
I had so much fun spending time with you on the mountain top and creating these memories. I hope you still want to go on photo adventures with me when you are 18. I love you, Isabella. And I am so excited for the day we have planned!
