Mayflower Gulch is an iconic Colorado location. And it provides a stunning 360 degree backdrop for any session. Like this Hiking Surprise Proposal at Mayflower Gulch. Nilan told me on the phone, that he and Annika love being outdoors and visiting national parks all over the country. So they were up for the 1.5 mile hike up to the old Boston mining site at sunset. I headed out on the trail a little bit before they were set to arrive, to make sure I made it to the top and could catch my breath, before the proposal. When they arrived, they explored the site a bit, before Nilan walked Annika down to the “designated” spot for the proposal. He even had a custom ring box engraved with their names and the date and the historic mining cabin. I love little details like this that make everything all the more special.
Since they were in hiking clothes for the proposal, Nilan also surprised Annika with a sunrise engagement session the next morning. A chance for them to get dressed up and celebrate their engagement on top of the world at Loveland Pass!
