Family Pictures in Estes Park | Estes Park Colorado Photographer

When my dear friend asks for beautiful family pictures in the aspen trees, we head up to Estes Park for the afternoon.  My husband and I have known Mallorie and Travis basically since we moved to Colorado.  We met in our first apartment in Broomfield over 11 years ago, and now we leave three houses away from each other in Erie!  This year, Mallorie dreamed about taking her family pictures in Estes Park.

We headed up the mountain on a sunny afternoon the last weekend in September.  Which also happened to be during the Estes Park Elk Fest.  And yes, we saw a ton of elk on our adventure!  We started their family pictures at Lake Estes.  It was a beautiful walk around the lake with mountain views and lots of changing trees.  Walker and Weston had fun finding sticks, throwing rocks into the water and climbing trees.  You know, just being kids.

After some time at the lake, we drove past the Stanley Hotel and towards to the Fall River Road entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.  And there it was.  The grove of aspen trees we had been dreaming about.  We had the place entirely to ourselves, and it was stunning as the setting sun lit up the yellow leaves on the aspen trees.  The perfect ending to the perfect day.
