If you have ever driven down to Castle Rock, then I am sure you have seen “The Rock.” The Rock Park has short hiking trails with scenic views. It’s funny, but in all the years I have lived in Colorado, I have never actually hiked there. Mostly when I am in Castle Rock, I am outlet shopping. Or just visiting my sister-in-law and her family. So when we started planning these family pictures in Castle Rock, I knew I had to check it out for myself.
These two families came together on a chilly afternoon in December to do something special. It was the first time that Drew, Carley and their dad, Andy, have taken family pictures since their mom passed away from cancer in 2016. And it was definitely a bittersweet moment for the family. Their mom, Nicole, enjoyed taking family pictures. And she was the one who would pick out everyone’s outfits. But when they finally decided that they were ready for pictures again, they were not alone. Their good family friend, and my sister-in-law, helped coordinate everything. And like she said when she saw the family pictures for the first time, Nicole was shining down on them through those sunbeams.
