Family Pictures at the Highlands Ranch Mansion

I knew when Evan and Amanda reached out to schedule their session, that I was going to connect with them immediately. They weren’t looking for traditional or posed family pictures at the Highlands Ranch Mansion. They wanted to capture something more than just a beautiful picture. They wanted to capture something authentic and real. And with 6 kids, I know they appreciate the beauty in the chaos. Because life doesn’t stop moving. And often times the kids are going in all separate directions. Each with their individual personalities and interests. Except, of course, when it’s time to sit down for some hot chocolate and cookies. Evan and Amanda brought the goodies to bring everyone together at the end of their session (and warm up).

And so I love the way their family story unfolded before me, on a crisp winter evening at the Highlands Ranch Mansion. There were so many beautiful details that weren’t posed or planned. And all I had to do was step back and give them the space to be themselves.
