Your session includes up to one hour of shooting time at the location of your choice. One hour to set aside everything else and enjoy quality time with your family. Embrace the beauty in the chaos, and together we will create a collection of moments for you to enjoy now and forever.
During your session, we will be playing, exploring and laughing to ensure we capture those authentic expressions and connections that mean the most to you. You are here because you want to remember your kids exactly as they are today, before they grow up any faster.
Your session also includes a pre-session consultation and styling assistance to take the stress out of what to wear.
After your session you will receive an online gallery of 50 edited images.
You also have the option to add on a family film to your session. These short films are designed to compliment your photo gallery, and the moments are captured during your session. Commemorating the little nuances, sweet gestures and subtle movements that can’t be preserved in a still photo.
Be comfortable and show your unique style! All sessions include further styling assistance, but here are some general tips to get you started:
Start with one outfit you love and pull colors from your inspiration piece that are complementary and the same color intensity. I always recommend choosing Mom's outfit first, and then building on it for the rest of the family. You want to find something to wear that makes you feel good. Also short skirts and short dresses are NOT recommended because they severely limit movement and posing options.
Choose 2-3 coordinating colors and sprinkle in some neutrals. Stay away from bright and fluorescent colors, which do not photograph well, (ie, instead of wearing white, think ivory or cream). Jewel tones, earth tones, and neutral tones are always timeless. Please also be mindful of characters and large logos/graphics on clothing. You can mix in different patterns (stripes, florals, plaids). And instead of having everyone wear jeans, mix in khakis, colored pants, or skirts/dresses.
Add layers, textures, and accessories for more interest and depth. Think light and flowy fabric that catches the light or the wind to create drama. Or clothes that have movement or fun detailing. You can add jewelry, statement rings, belts, suspenders, , kimonos, jackets, hats, etc.
I love the look of boots, as well as dress shoes, cute sandals, or deck shoes on your feet. Just remember to avoid characters on your children’s shoes. Choose shoes that are stylish, but also sensible enough to explore and walk around.
Dress for the scenery (and the weather). If we are meeting in an open field in the summertime, you want outfits that are going to pop against the green grass.
Think about the colors in your home, since this is where your photographs will be displayed.
If anyone in your family wears glasses, beware of transition lenses, which photograph like sunglasses outside. I recommend wearing a pair of regular lenses for the session, if you have them. Otherwise, it's your preference whether glasses stay on or off (or a little bit of both).

Allow yourself enough time to get ready, and plan on arriving to your session 10 minutes early so you do not feel rushed. Make sure you allow enough extra driving time for traffic and parking. Schedules are hectic these days, but make this a special day. Block off the entire morning or afternoon of your session on the family calendar. Then plan to go out for a meal or treat (insert bribery here) after pictures.
Let go of perfection. You scheduled your family pictures, you picked out the outfits, and you showed up to the session. Now leave the rest of the details up to me and just enjoy the time you get to spend loving on your family! Come ready to play and enjoy quality family time. Family sessions are relaxed, natural, and fun.
Let me know if you are bringing a pet. If your dog is coming along, make sure he/she gets a lot of exercise before the session.
Bring easy no-mess snacks (crackers, fruit snacks, etc.) for a little break, bottled water, and some wipes to clean up their sweet little faces. Pack some extra clothes or layers, in too. For the little ones, sometimes it works best to get them fully dressed in the car after you arrive.

Where will my session take place?
I will help you find the perfect outdoor location, whether you are looking for mountain views, rustic farms, urban vibes, etc. I also offer lifestyle family sessions in the comfort of your own home.
How long will the session last?
As a general rule, plan on your family session lasting approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. Think of this as a time to spend creating memories with your family, instead of posing for a camera.
When do you schedule sessions?
Outdoor sessions with mountain views take place approximately one to two hours before sunset for the best lighting. Morning sessions may be scheduled at select locations. If you are an early riser, ask me about sunrise sessions.
What happens if there is bad weather?
I will always touch base with you to finalize the details for your session the week before we are scheduled to meet. If it looks like there is bad weather in the forecast, I will be in touch 24 hours before your session to determine if we need to reschedule. For any other rescheduling questions, please contact me directly.
How many pictures do you take? Do we get to see them all?
After your session you will receive an online gallery of 50 images, which has been thoughtfully curated to a collection of beautiful moments. Galleries for extended family sessions have a minimum of 75 edited images.
Do you offer retouching services?
Yes, simple retouching is included. As a general rule, any blemish or mark that would not otherwise be there in a month can be removed as requested.

How do I book my session?
Please email me at coloradolifestylephotography@gmail.com, or you can schedule directly through my website. I will help you choose a location and plan a session that best fits your family’s personality. You will be sent an online contract to e-sign and instructions for paying the session fee.
When is payment due?
Your $200 deposit is due at the time of booking, and the remaining balance is due on the day of your session.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept credit cards and Venmo (@Kristin-Christian-1).
How soon after our session will we be able to see our pictures?
I always send a sneak peek a couple days after your session. Your fully edited online gallery will be available four weeks after your session.
How do we order our pictures?
You will be able to download the digital images from your gallery in high resolution, along with a print release. You may also order professional quality prints and products directly through your gallery.
How long do you keep our images and can we order more later?
Your online gallery will remain open for 30 days. I then archive your images for one year.
