Moose sightings are not a guarantee, but they are always exciting! In our family, whenever we see a moose, we go out for ice cream. And these three sweet girls definitely deserved some ice cream after their Fall Family Pictures at Rainbow Lake in Frisco. This trailhead is one of my favorite locations to capture fall color in the mountains. If you are wondering when is the best time to capture fall color, it’s typically the last week in September, first week in October. This year, the color started popping a little earlier, and we were already seeing patches of color in mid-September. Obviously every year is different. But in general, the last week of September is my favorite week in the mountains!
