One of our favorite family traditions in the summer is spending Thursday nights at the Erie Farmer’s Market. We pack up the kids in the car at 5PM and drive into historic downtown Erie. We spend some time walking up and down the block, and eventually end up grabbing dinner at one of the local establishments. The kids love playing with the hula hoops, which are always carefully laid out in front of the live entertainment. I personally couldn’t keep a hula hoop off the ground for 30 seconds!
We love stocking up on fresh veggies every week, and I am excited to see some new vendors this year, too. This year you can find anything from oils to soaps to clothing, in addition to the more traditional homemade jams and baked goods. We also love our cheese and pierogies! Delicious!
This is the 3rd year that the Erie Farmer’s Market has taken over Briggs Street, and every year the event keeps getting bigger and better.
