Happy 7th birthday, Isabella Vail. You will be expecting this blog post, when you wake up in the morning. You will be excited to sit in my lap, and look through the moments I chose. One picture a month, for a year. Because childhood is fleeting. You have been talking about your “year of pictures” ever since I put one together for your brother’s 4th birthday. We have been documenting our family traditions, and gathering memories, just waiting for this special day so I could pull it all together for you.
This year has been a big change for us all, with you starting first grade. I miss having you home every afternoon. I can literally see you growing up right before my eyes, but even more so when I look back on this collection of moments. You are starting to make bigger decisions for yourself. How you want to cut your hair. What extracurricular activities you want to try. You are figuring out who you want to be. And your dad and I are quite honestly in awe of you. We are so proud to be your parents. So enjoy today, my sweet daughter. And stop growing up so fast!
