When Rachel reached out to schedule her maternity session, she told me upfront that she wasn’t interested in doing her newborn session at home (you can see their maternity session HERE). So when Beckett was born, we started planning his Broomfield Outdoor Newborn Session. McKay Lakes is the perfect location for a morning or evening session. And thank goodness for lucky lady bugs. Because her older son, Jasper was obsessed with them. And it was the only way we could get just Jasper and Beckett together on the blanket. 🙂

I started offering outdoor newborn sessions in 2020, as a way to still be able to document these precious moments without having to go inside a family’s home. Sometimes we met in their backyard. And sometimes we met at a park like McKay Lake. Outdoor newborn sessions are perfect when you have an older sibling or two, because it gives the older kids a little bit of an adventure and something to do. They are also great because you don’t have to worry about cleaning up your house. One less thing to worry about with a new baby at home.
