It is a very intimate thing, to be invited into the hospital room with you and your new baby. An honor that I do not take lightly, as a Boulder Fresh 48 Photographer. You have just given birth, you and your partner have barely slept, and your precious newborn baby is only hours old. It’s real and it’s raw and it’s beautiful.
I first met Kristen and Vasyl for their snowy maternity session in the mountains (you can see more moments HERE). These two are high school sweethearts, who moved to Colorado for their love of the mountains and winter and adventure. Their maternity session at Officer’s Gulch was magical. It was like it started snowing just for them.

Then, baby William arrived two weeks early, on Christmas Eve. Their little Christmas miracle. I smiled when Kristen told me they stopped at the store on the way to the hospital after her labor started, to get him his “first Christmas” outfit. Luckily, they did already have their hospital “go” bag packed when she went into early labor. So on Christmas afternoon, after all the presents were opened, I made my way over to Avista Hospital in Louisville, to document these previous first moments of this family of three together.
