Some stories come full circle in the best way—and Evan and Amelia’s was one of them.
I first met them in Vail, where I photographed Evan’s surprise proposal. So when they reached out again, this time to capture their elopement in Aspen, it felt like being invited back into something really meaningful.
Though they call California home, Colorado has always been part of their story. And this day reflected that in the most intentional way. Choosing T-Lazy-7 Ranch wasn’t just about the views (though they’re incredible). It was about creating a day that reflected the places and experiences that brought them together.
They began with a quiet first look in the Main Meadow, surrounded by open space and mountain air. It was calm, emotional, and grounding. Just the two of them before everything unfolded.
Their ceremony followed in the Mountain Meadow, with the kind of backdrop that doesn’t need anything added. Just presence. Just meaning.
And as the light softened, everyone gathered at the lodge. Where the evening shifted into something warm, connected, and full of life.
One of the most meaningful parts of this day was the way their kids were woven into everything. This wasn’t just about two people getting married. It was about a family coming together. The kind of moments that can’t be staged…just felt.
Those are always the ones that matter most.
